UCLA Student Tasered

The officers use of force was so wrong. In my opinion, these officers ABUSED this student without cause:

The officers use of force was so wrong. In my opinion, these officers ABUSED this student without cause:

From what I’ve heard/read the guy was bieng a dick and did deserve to be removed…I said removed not Tasered.
I love “teh internets” and cell phone video recording. It is like big brother but it is more effective against the government than against the people…
Orwell was both right and wrong.

First, the whole ‘must see your ID’ was kinda punk in the first place. Can we say racial profiling?
Second, no worries about kicking him out if he were acting as a dick, but this does not warrant a tasering. And it certainly doesn’t call for multiple tasering because he “won’t” stand up– like one can really stand up after being tasered.
Third, from what I hear security made the initial physical contact.
Lastly, I think it would be interesting if I were able to carry around a taser and zap people that were being dicks to me.
And wow, the officers threatened to taser some other students for asking for their badge numbers.

I do see that it allows embedded youtube…now I just need to find some interesting youtube videos to link to.
On the discussion at hand; yeah, there is clearly no way that the amount of force used could have been neccessary. Even if he had assaulted them to start with, which noone claims is the case.

I had seen some video and I thought this one was the same…It’s longer than I thought.
I think mentioning profiling takes away from it. Those cops were just abusive.
Whether he could stand after being tased or not is a non-issue. If he is not physically threatening there is no excuse for the taser. If they hadn’t had tasers they would have simply carried him out. They used tasers because they had them and they thougth they could get away with it. Shit They tased him for passive resistance! Passive resistance!
