However, it also seems to me that Creationism attacks both BB *and* Evolution; they are politically lumped together even though they may be subtly different.

Intelligent Design is a counterpoint to Evolution and not the Big Bang Theory.  I don't know what these guys at NASA are doing.

Repeat after me, "Creation is to Big Bang Theory as Intelligent Design is to Evolution."  One is comparing the origin of the universe and one is comparing the origin of life.  It bugs me when people on both sides get these mixed together.</description>
